2-Amino-3,5-diiodobenzoic acid is also named 3,5-diiodoanthranilic acid, a multifunctional pharmaceutical synthetic building block of diiodo-substituted anthranilic acid. The benzene ring carries multiple modifiable active sites: 2-amino group, 1-carboxyl group, and two iodine atoms at C3 & C5. Ortho amino and carboxyl groups can cyclize to form fused nitrogen heterocycles such as quinazolines and benzoxazoles

Storage Requirements
Pack in brown light-proof sealed containers, store in cool dry warehouses at 2–15 ℃, strictly avoid direct sunlight and UV radiation.

All operations must be performed in fume hoods with solvent-resistant nitrile gloves, fully enclosed chemical safety goggles and dust & organic vapor respirators.

Waste mother liquor and solid residues are iodine-containing hazardous organic waste; discharge into sewers is forbidden, deliver to qualified hazardous waste disposal institutions for dedicated treatment.
