Phenyl Methyl Silicone Oil
Phenyl Methyl Silicone Oil is formally named Poly(dimethylsiloxane-co-methylphenylsiloxane), also known as methylphenyl silicone fluid or Model 255 heat transfer silicone oil. It is a non-reactive random copolymer silicone fluid terminated with trimethylsilyl groups, consisting of dimethylsiloxane and methylphenylsiloxane repeating units.

Appearance: Colorless to pale yellow transparent oily liquid
Phenyl Molar Content: Adjustable from 3 mol% to 35 mol%
Density (25℃): 1.00–1.11 g/cm³, increases with higher phenyl proportion
Refractive Index (20℃): 1.420–1.535, rises synchronously with phenyl content
Flash Point: ≥270℃, ultra-low volatility; high-phenyl grades reach 300℃
Storage Requirements
Store in tightly sealed containers in cool and dry warehouses at 2–30℃, general light shielding is sufficient.
Keep away from concentrated strong acids and strong oxidants; long-term high-temperature exposure will cause slow oxidation and discoloration.
Maintain airtight packaging against moisture and dust; standard shelf life is 12 months.
Separate from open flames and high-temperature heat sources, keep warehouse well ventilated and dry.

Raw material for optical products & cosmetics: High refractive index improves gloss for color cosmetics, smooth emollient for skincare and hair care transparent formulations.
Modifying additive for coatings and inks: Improve compatibility with aromatic resins, enhance UV resistance, weather resistance and leveling performance of coatings.
High-temperature bath oil and gas chromatographic stationary phase for laboratory analysis.
Radiation-resistant special hydraulic oil, buffer medium for nuclear facilities under radiation exposure.
